Been a LOOOOONG Time

Whoa! I never updated this on tour, or after tour... weird!
The tour stories will have to live on as oral tradition, as I have no desire to type out the entire journey, at least not yet. I did keep a tour journal, maybe I'll type that out and post it up here sometime.
Anyways, shit is back in swing. I work at a movie theater in downtown Seattle. I can't really sneak people in but if you go with me you can get in free, so, we should see a movie sometime.
The Walk Home is in yet another no practice limbo, not sure if we'll make it out of this one, but the tapes did really well on tour, as well as us in general, really well accepted. Me and Eric want to start a less poppy band sometime soon too and rage around this country once more.
If you want a tape e-mail me, once I figure out shipping I'll get back to you. It'll most likely be less than 5 bucks.

The Walk Home Tapes are Done Done Done!!!!

Yay!
So The Walk Home has 200 tapes now. They look rad. I'm going to scan the art and put together digital copies sometime tomorrow (as well as making some punk-as-hell patches) and that'll be up and running soonly.
Shakes is also making tapes, maybe they are almost done? Not really sure on that. But I will be releasing the digital copies of those too. Radness level maximum.
You know when shit almost starts to suck, but then stops sucking almost right afterwords? Yeah, life can be pretty sweet sometimes.
Keep checking the Bands section! Free stuff there soon!

The Anarchy Cat!

With tapes almost finished (needing art, printed out label things and j-cards, and duplication), and tour coming up for The Walk Home, I thought it was only appropriate to get a cat. Well, a kitten. Sort of not great timing except that while I'm gone I know she'll be in the best hands possible. Anyways, here's some pictures of Ms. Chiff the Anarchy Cat

IT IS FUCKING DONE

Today I finally made the master tape to do the upcoming The Walk Home release, which is obviously being released as a tape, with a little thingy on the tape that tells you where you can download it for digital copies and/or burning cds and stuff like that. I cannot possibly express how FUCKING EXCITED I am about this. The days leading up to this were filled with much turmoil and talks of tours and things falling apart, BUT NOW EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE AWESOME. I cannot explain this rational. BUT IT WILL.
A brief history of this tape:
Step 1 - Spend hours recording the tracks to it
Step 2 - Spend hours eqing said tracks
Step 3 - Spend even more hours messing with levels an EQ of entire tracks.
Step 4 - Make the first tape, it sucks, too much bass
Step 5 - Fix bass problem. Attempt to put together another tape.
Step 6 - Mysteriously lose the last 5 or so seconds of one of the songs as it goes to the tape. Tape is ruined.
Step 7 - Make the final tape the RULES
*Step 8 - Get art and make inserts
*Step 9 - Make 299 copies of the master tape
*Step 10 - ???
*Step 11 - PROFIT
* - Denotes this step hasn't actually happened yet...

If you don't get the joke I'm not actually excited about the profit part, its a South Park thing, rather, I'm excited that the kids of the world will now have a better chance hearing The Walk Home. Damn yes.

Tapes Are On the Way!

Sweeeeeeeeet.
We bought 300 tapes. Now we just gotta wait for them to get here. Oh, and run my tape duper 60 times. Then packaging. Then doneness! Finally.
Billy's Idol is back in the works and denying all prior material. To hear what's up there, go to http://www.myspace.com/billysidol. Tape plans also sort of in the works there, though there is only about 3 minutes worth of material.
Oh, and, its fucking hot!

Messed With Blog, Looked At Prices

So far today I have added a chat thingy and a hit counter to this blog so I can see how many people actually come here. I fear the worst. But after tour hopefully a bunch of people will come here to download some digital copies of stuff, so I'm no hurry to get larger bills from my webhost.
I also looked at the prices for tapes. Looks like we should get by at about $45 per person (3 people) for our band to get 200 tapes + cases + labels. We might even do the cases ourselves which would save us about 5 bucks apiece. I'm stoked that it is less than $50, because we still have to deal with cover art and printing 200 copies of it, which I'm sure kinkos will charge us a butt load for. Ah well, should be rad anyway.
We need to get some shirts made, apparently those sell well and we'll definitely need the money on tour, so, that's the next step.
At this point the recordings probably need a couple more hours worth of tweaking and then a little mastering time as well, so that's nearly finished.
Good stuff is good.

The Next Step

All of the tracks are laid down, and now the EQing and mastering begins. Not that I really know what I'm doing, but a lot of the songs already sound pretty rad, so I'll just make them sound radder. I put up a demo of Metro on The Walk Home's myspace page if you want to check that out. I'm stoked that the process is coming together. We're trying to have everything nearing completion by the end of June. Here's hoping.

Christmas in April

It's here, it's here!
My friggin tape duper is here, huge, and awesome. I already made 3 copies of a Garth Brooks tape with it. Not even kidding (hey, I was at the parent's house).
So, now all that is left is finishing the recordings (going better than worse at the moment) and buying the tapes. Apparently I can get a gnarly deal t-shirts, then I just have to figure out tape inserts and how much that will set me back. And then tour! Things are good.

Anyone want me to put out their albums as tapes?

Guitar Trax

UGHGHGH. I just managed to get maybe 1 or 2 usable guitar tracks recorded for the upcoming Walk Home tape, and man was it frustrating. Not the actual playing, because playing guitar is the simps, but my damn recording setup is being an ass and a half, as represented by (||) + (| ... if you don't get it, you aren't 12.
Anyway, I dunno what is wrong with it, half the time it records fine, the other half the time it records mostly just a fuzzing sound and really harsh clicks. This is what I get for upgrading everything but my mixer, which is a damn important piece. Tomorrow I'm going to try and finish some of them up, but it is looking like we may have to cut it a song or two short in order to get this shit done. Ah well, gotta have something for the next one... right?

Re-do

So I just re-did anarchycap.com to make it more ready to be the host of my tape label, which goes by the same name for now (until I come up with something mega rad).
I was stoked to be asked by my long-time buddy Eric to release his other band Filth Mattress' second album. I dunno if they are doing a tape or just want to do the digital release on Anarchy Cap, but either way I am into it. I am probably going to have to switch webhosts soon, at least after tour, so I don't have to pay as much for storage. If you want info on all the music you will soon be able to get from here, go to anarchycap.com (if that isn't how you found this blog) and click on Bands on the left. That'll get you in the know.
Tape duplicator has come in the mail and is incredibly heavy. I have yet to test it because it is stuck on Vashon, the only place I can currently receive mail, especially of this size.
Also, I need a van. Well, I need a driver's license, then a van. Actually, van first. Got one for cheap?
I gotta go eat, I'm hella hungry. Til next time!

On the Up and Up

So a couple days ago me and my buddy Eric did some researchin into the fine world of Cassette Tape Duplication. Fun! Turns out it isn't really that much cheaper than cds though. Not fun. So, a solution was in need.
Thus I turned to ebay to buy my own tape duplicator thinking they'd be like an hundred bucks. Boy was I dead ass wrong. The damn things are 600 dollars and up... used! We almost gave up when I came across this beauty

It doesn't look like much, but this piece of equipment usually runs over $1000 new, and I picked it up for $150 bucks, shipped. This is a 1-to-7 tape duper, hell yes! That's only 15 runs through per 100. BANGIN!
So I'm stoked. Now I just have to figure out how the hell one gets rid of tapes locally (I dunno how many stores would take them) and start a neato little tape label or something.
Other plans for this is to have little slips of paper come with all the tapes leading to a website that you can download the album from just in case you want a digital copy for burning cds or mp3 player purposes (or if you're like me and sit around listening to music on your computer all day).

tl;dr: I'm stoked.

I Love Distraction

Just to make the recording and touring of my other band even harder, I've decided to start another band to preemptively strike at the other band breaking up once we all hate each other on the road... just kidding. But I have had another idea for a solo project that I hope will blossom into a beautiful child of a full band. If I play guitar in it and don't just do vocals (which is the plan) then it just needs a bassist, another guitarist, and a keyboard player and horn player that don't mind not playing anything on some parts/songs. Drums will most likely get taken care of by my buddy and soon to be room mate Nick (currently drums in said 'other band' The Walk Home) and my buddy Cosmo might fill in the other guitar or keyboard/horn slots.
Blah blah blah, without further ado, The New League of Punk Rock Heroes.
As a side note, if you were in a band called that ^^^ what would you call your house? I'm trying to think of something rad to throw to the table for my next living situation.

Recording and Touring, Part I

That is right, the band that I have been in for 5 years and that has never recorded a good quality release or toured passed Olympia, is finally making the leap. Granted we were like 15 when we started playing together and could barely play our instruments, and our band seems cursed with drug/drinking addictions and broken wrists (not kidding). So, the first 2 or so years didn't count. Still though, it has been a long time coming, and we are really stoked. But what does it mean for this site?

Shit, that's what. I'm not going to be spending a whole ton of my time on here doing anything but updating anyone who happens to care about the band's progress. But that should be enough anyway, right?

We are touring with a band called Shakes from around Seattle as well. We share a bassist and basic sound (us being pop punk, them being pop rock), so that should make things easier. It should be a hella blast. We're touring towards the east first, then heading down to New Orleans and back through Texas. Then going up through Colorado, down through Las Vegas to southern California, and back up California to the homestead.

If you happen to live in any of those areas (or even not, hell, we don't really care) and know of a house we could play in that might let us sleep there or something as well, please let me know. It would be awesome. Links to my email and such should be above this blog, or if you are viewing from blogspot, go to http://www.anarchycap.com.

That's it for now.

Sick and Tired, Tired and Sick

Sorry all zero readers, I've been really sick for the past 5 or so days, and typing just wasn't an option. I still don't feel great, but I'll live. I also don't really feel like I have too much to contribute at the moment... how do you people get these blog things so popular? Well I'm going to start playing more acoustically and uploading that, which you may like. Besides that... uh... I dunno, fun stuff, I promise!

Most important information ever: The Murder City Devils are playing at the Showbox for two days. One all ages and one 21+. Gonna be friggin awesome. Hope you can make it!

New idea for the site, introducing, blogspot

So, I thought, going along with the idea of turning this site into a blog, it would only make sense that I actually host most of it on blogspot. You know, to reach a larger audience. Free advertising is the best advertising. Plus, I've seen many a sick blog on this site with lots of copyrighted material up for grabs, so I feel slightly safer hosting some of it here. Got any requests?

All of the media made by me and my friends will still be available on my website (which should be above all this blogspot goodness if you're viewing through my site, if not, check out the link at the very bottom of this page). I find having a real site to host this through lets me sort shit out the way I like it, so I'm gonna stick with that.

Hopefully some good stuff to come in the future. I'm gearing up for the start of the actual "blogging" and some old school rants to be thrown in them. Should be fun once the ball gets rolling. I nearly promise you won't really care what I have to say, but I'll probably toss some free crap in there to keep you interested.

Damn beer...

Damn work. Damn beer. Damn drugs. Okay, that pretty much takes care of why I haven't updated in almost in week. As a bonus, I actually didn't do anything but work, be drunk, or be high for the entirety of those five days, so you really didn't miss anything. Today I have to do laundry though... so this might be even more of a waste of time than me actually not writing anything at all.

I'm listening to Minor Threat though. That's pretty punk.

Anyways, there is a mega sweet show this upcoming weekend, on the 31st. Its at Shebang! where my former room mate and current band mate in 'The Walk Home' Eric lives. Pretty sweet house, usually has good shows, and I honestly forget who is playing, but I remember being pretty stoked on hearing about it. Oh yeah, the only band I remember is the Dandelion Junk Queens, and they're pretty neat, so, there you go. I am now listening to Neutral Milk Hotel. Shuffle rules.

Free music begins!

Starting to upload some old Anarchy Cap stuff to Rapidshare. If you don't know how to use Rapidshare and want a little tutorial just e-mail me... I'll probably add one to the site sometime but for now... bleh. Anyways, everything should be up in the Media by Friends and Media by Myself, and if any link stops working PLEASE let me know via e-mail or myspace or something.

Once I find something worth posting and figure out how illegal it is, I'm going to open up a Media by Others section for sweet Rapidshares I find laying around the internet. Probably stick to moderately hard to find albums and such, if you want mainstream movies/music/whatever I can probably help you achieve that, but I don't want to stick that shit on my website.

Edit: Just finished the Media by Friends and Media by Myself sections, check 'em out for free music!

Very first post, a history and introduction

Anarchy Cap Records no longer exists, I will now continue to use this page as my own personal B.S. web space to store crap on the internet that would suck to lose. I'm even gonna start a blog on it... and I do believe you are reading its first entry.

It turns out, only kind of to my surprise, that no one was into paying for downloadable music. And I dig that, in fact, if there is one common law of the internet, it is that everything on it is free, you just gotta know where to look. So, with my friends permission, and the permission I assume from everyone I'm in band's with, I will be posting songs, albums, art, poems, stories, essays, or whatever by me and my friends up here, all fully free. I'm going to try and think up a less-than-super-illegal way to share some of the better copyrighted goods of the net with the masses here... I just gotta figure out how other blogs and scrap get away with it. Shant be that hard I presume.

Anyways, welcome to Anarchy Cap, my name is Cyrus, some of my friends know me as Cy, some people know me as the dude from The Walk Home or Infamous Last Words, and my nerdier comrades might know me as tr1ple6, my super sick online game handle. So there you have it, brother, friend, band mate, geek/gamer/nerd, whatever I am may be, I will be it here.
